Wilderness Adventures In Canada's Yukon
Wilderness Trap-Line Adventures
The fur industry has a long rich history in Canada. Fur from the Yukon Territory is some of the best quality to be found anywhere in the world. Miles of road-less wilderness make Yukon a trappers paridise. We own two trap-lines, both in the southeast Yukon. Each of these trap-lines are unique and have good populations of fur bearers. Since the Yukon uses the registered trap-line system, we have exclusive trapping rights to our area.
These trips start on February 1st and run through March 31st. During this time the days are longer and wolves and wolverine are moving more. All travel is via snow-machine. These are true wilderness trips where we will set traps for wolves, wolverine, lynx, marten, mink, otters as well as beaver. Marten season closes on February 28th so if this is an animal you would like to catch be sure and book your trip in February. . Every client can take home one animal of each species caught during his or her stay at no extra cost.
Each year we establish a few bait sites well in advance of your arrival. This really improves your chances of connecting with big fur like wolves, wolverine and lynx. On a typical day we will travel 25 to 30-miles of wilderness trail checking and setting traps. For clients interested, some good ice fishing is also available.

Wolf Trapping School
In addition to our trap-line adventures we also host a wilderness wolf trapping school. This class is limited to a maximum of four students. We believe most people learn by doing and that’s what this course is all about. You will spend 14-days in the Toobally Lakes watershed learning to trap these elusive canines. Unlike other trapping schools we teach you not only how to make a variety of sets; we teach you one of the most often overlooked aspects of wolf trapping. How to reliably choose successful locations. We only run one of these classes each year so book early if you’re interested.

Clients should plan to arrive in Whitehorse the day before their trip starts. Most clients get in on the afternnon flight and spend that night in a hotel. We will pick you up the next morning for the drive to the trailhead. It is a 4 1/2 hour drive from Whitehorse to the trailhead that leads to the Pike Lake trapline, then a 1-hour snowmachine ride into the cabin. The Toobally Lake line is a 5 1/2 hour drive from Whitehorse, then a 2 hour snowmachine ride into the cabin. This travel day does NOT count in your trip. All clients get a full seven or ten days on the trapline.
