Lake Trout
The cold, clear waters of the Toobally Lakes produce remarkable lake trout fishing, with fish averaging 12 to 15 pounds and frequently topping 25. The true beauty of the system, however, is the range of options it offers: everything from early-season sight-casting to huge rising fish with flies or lures, to trolling a sinking fly line or plugs and plastics to lakers around the many reefs.
Northern Pike
The Yukon is home to some of the best northern pike fishing on the planet. Both upper and lower Toobally Lakes have a large population of these brutes. Whether you prefer to use fly or spinning gear, hang on ! These fish are large and aggressive!
In addition to the excellent pike fishing the main lakes offer, we have small boats with motors on some of the smaller lakes in the surrounding area. These are accessible by a short hike through the forrest on our established trails. These lakes regularly produce some real monsters that can go close 50-inches.
Arctic Grayling
Imagine water so clear you can see every fish in the pool and watch as they fight to be the first to your fly. This is a normal day on the Smith. A fly or spin-fishers dream, the Smith River is literally teeming with schools of arctic grayling.
These fish are real fighters too, often breaking water before they are landed. Twelve miles of the Smith River separates upper and lower Toobally Lakes. This makes access easy for our jet-boats. Whether you prefer to wade or fish from the boat you will want to spend more than one day experiencing this fishery.
